UPDATE 19FEB2025
We have had several delays. This is an overview and current status.
ATF lost our address change paperwork so it had to be submitted several times. They then needed to conduct an inspection but at the time we only had a foundation and shipping containers so they pushed it back. Our SOT had to be changed after that, they do not let you do anything until the FFL is updated in the system. Once that got approved we got selected for another audit which is happening this month. this process took us until January to get settled. We could not do anything about it, feel free to tell the ATF to work faster on all our paperwork.
I (Bruce) was hospitalized for injuries and emergency surgery several times over the past 6 months. This included a gunshot to the chest, ruptured internal organs and removal of several organs. This left me mostly immobile as I had seven new holes/cuts throughout my torso over several weeks. This is not an attempt at sympathy, only an explanation of the timeline.
I have fully recovered and have been working on the new shop, we are at 40% completion. Thanks in large part to everyone who has helped us out.
Our home was successfully torn down and the new steel frame/tin installed. It was supposed to have been down back in November but insurance delayed us severely. At present insurance is kicking us out of rental housing by April, we do not have electricity, plumbing, walls or anything else for our house. We have filed a lawsuit with insurance over the repairs and delays they have caused but that will take months or years to finish.
I’m currently converting a shipping container into a livable space to house us while we wait for the house to be finished.
All that being said, we have no money, we have no home and we have less than half of a shop. All firearms being worked on will be returned or the project finished at cost. However we have had to move everything multiple times and have to inventory all the items in our possession. once the ATF audit and inventory is complete we can start returning/ finishing items. Most items are completely disassembled and will need to be cleaned, coated ETC before we can send it out. we are responsible for the safety of all items in our shop and will not let anything leave until it has been completed.
I understand how frustrating this is, no one is more upset than we are. All I can do is ask for your patience while we resolve everything as fast as we can. We will continue to update our page here. the shop phone number is no longer active. we couldn’t afford to keep it.
If you would like to help us, we need anything you are willing to give. Nails, screws, wood, furniture, Home depot gift cards, food etc. just email us at Dareingarms@gmail.com
once we have the shop running again. We will be doing a large charity raffle for Valley View tornado recovery. to help the community and victims that still need help. even if you just support valley view businesses, restaurants etc.
2024
Our house and property was damaged by the recent tornado on I-35. We are being relocated to a new home as the majority of our support structure will have to be torn down and rebuilt. My family and pets were unharmed but others were not as lucky.
Our neighborhood was destroyed, along with several others. Many families have lost some or all of their homes, become permanently injured or in some cased died. We will post links to gofundme pages for the families that need it most. As well as contact information for organizations that are helping tremendously. The Valley View school has been especially helpful.
If you would like to help us or the valley view community recovery efforts please email us DareingArms@gmail.com
Several of our customers took the time to come help us clean up the debris left by the storm. It means so much to me that so many have gone out of their way to be there for my family in our time of need.
